Lots of New Details Including Opening Date Revealed for Disney Cruise Line’s Lighthouse Point
Disney Cruise Line has just revealed tons of new details including the opening date of their newest private island retreat, Lighthouse Point!
Located on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas, Lighthouse Point will begin welcoming Disney Cruise Line Guests beginning with Summer 2024 sailings!

Bahamian Culture Comes to Life
Disney Cruise Line has been working ultra-close with local artisans and consultants to bring the festive and vibrant island oasis to life so all Guests will feel the spirit of the Bahamas with touches from the local culture including playful folklore characters designed to evoke warmth and charm.
Bahamian artists were tapped to design the curvilinear buildings on the island, that at first glance will look like Bahamian shells scattered along the shoreline. However, when Guests get a little closer, they will notice the artistic expressions of the native flora and fauna of The Bahamas and the pageantry and history of the energetic Junkanoo parades.

Respect for the Environment
Like everything Disney and Disney Cruise Line does, Lighthouse Point has been designed to respect the local environment. 90% of the island’s electricity will be provided by an onsite solar array. In addition, Imagineers designed the location’s pier to avoid the need for dredging. Elevated walkways through the island will help limit the impact on the breathtaking landscape.
All Guests who visit Lighthouse Point will get to see firsthand efforts to conserve wildlife in their native habitats while being surrounded by the magic of nature.
Fun for the Entire Family!
Once open for Disney Cruise Line Guests in Summer 2024, Guests will be able to experience a private island that is similar to Disney’s Castaway Cay when it comes to exclusivity but with a ton of new and exciting activities for Guests of every age. Let’s take a closer look!

Expansive Family Beach
Lighthouse Point will boast a place where families can play in the sandy Bahamian beach and frolic in the turquoise water all while being centrally located to a market-style dining area, recreation, and other amenities the island has to offer.

Bahamian Culture Art Pavilion
During their visit to Lighthouse Point, Guests are invited to special programs presented by local artists that will teach about the traditions and natural beauty of The Islands of the Bahamas has to offer.

Family Water Play Area
Another area families visiting Lighthouse Point will love to experience together is the bright and colorful Family Water Play Area. This Area will feature two water slides, water drums, fountains, and more, including a dedicated space for toddlers.

Adults-Only Beach
Just like at Castaway Cay, Lighthouse Point will also offer adults a beach of their own to enjoy some peace and serenity. The adults-only beach will give adult guests exclusive access to a dining area featuring delicious food and refreshing drinks with six private cabanas all along a sun-drenched section of the beach.

Themed Kids Club
While the adults are relaxing on the adults-only beach, children ages three to 12 are invited to enjoy some time in the sun under the care of highly-trained Disney Cruise Line Cast Members at the Themed Kids Club on Lighthouse Point. This area will offer kids a “The Little Mermaid”-themed splash pad along with plenty of shade and a dedicated dining area.

Premium Cabana Rentals
Once open, Disney Cruise Line’s Lighthouse Point will also offer 20 premium cabana rentals along a more peaceful section of the family beach. Four double cabanas will also be offered for larger families and parties and will also offer in-cabana massage services.
Additional Recreational Activities
In addition to all of this fun, Guests of all ages are invited to play some games in a covered gaming pavilion, a volleyball court and gaga ball pit; watercraft and bicycle rentals; nature trails for hiking and biking; and much more!

Exclusive Port Adventures
Lighthouse Point will also offer Guests a chance to enjoy an entirely new collection of Disney Cruise Line Port Adventures that were curated with local tour operators. These port adventures invite Guests to explore beyond the Lighthouse Point area and see more of what Eleuthera and the Bahamas have to offer.
