Dude Duck Released (1951)
On this day in 1951, the Donald Duck short Dude Duck was released.

Directed by Jack Hannah, the cartoon featured Donald going on vacation to a dude ranch. Unfortunately, his relaxation is ruined by an uncooperative horse.
Walt Disney World Welcomes its 50th Millionth Guest (1976)
On this day in 1976, Walt Disney World welcomed its 50-millionth guests- Susan Brummer.
The milestone was reached four and half years into the park’s operation.
The Safari Outpost Opens in Disneyland (1986)
On this day in 1986, the Safari Outpost opened in Disneyland.
The shop would close in 1995.
Michael Eisner Offers to Resign (2004)
On this day in 2004, Michael Eisner offered to resign as CEO of the Walt Disney Company.

At the time, the company was in the midst of Roy E. Disney and Stanley P. Gold’s Save Disney campaign. The Disney board of directors declined Eisner’s offer, but agreed to cede the chairman title to George Mitchell.
Wild Hogs Released (2007)
On this day in 2007, Disney released Wild Hogs through their Touchstone Pictures imprint.

Construction on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy Begins (2009)
On this day in 2009, Disney Cruise Line announced that construction had started in Germany on two new ships. Named the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, Disney hoped to christen the ships in 2011.
