New DVC Tower Takes Shape on Seven Seas Lagoon
A touch of Disney magic might be involved in the construction progress over at the latest Disney Vacation Club build. Situated on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon, the work this week on the new DVC tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort continues to impress us on each glance.
Though skies brought a bit of gray clouds yesterday, the project’s grounds stayed dry. This allowed crews to continue the extraordinary underground work that the enormous project requires. With road closures around the resort area, the timeliness of this part of the project seems critical not only to the building’s infrastructure but also to the logistics of navigating the roads around the Magic Kingdom resorts.
As always, the monorail ride from the Polynesian to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa let us catch a glance at the materials ready for this week’s work.
Last week, the tower’s foundation was the only visible structure at the construction site. This week, however, each day brings new concrete walls that continue to add dimension to what will be the multi-story building.
With a prospective opening timeline of 2024, it’s certainly exciting to see such progress over the last couple days on the banks of the Seven Seas Lagoon. After all, it has only been five days since the first wall popped up at the site.
Concept art reveals that the building has a long way to go. With varying levels and Disney’s characteristic attention to detail, stay tuned as we watch these large slabs eventually become Disney Vacation Club’s next luxurious resort space.
