February 25th featured the debut of a new Mickey Mouse cartoon, the sale of a Disney intellectual property, and the premiere of a new live-action classic! So, let’s get going!

Boat Builders Released (1938)
On this day in 1938, the Mickey Mouse Cartoon Boat Builders was released.

Directed by Ben Sharpsteen, the film features Mickey, Donald, and Goofy who construct the “Queen Minnie” ship form folding parts.
Totally Minnie Airs (1988)
On this day in 1988, Totally Minnie aired on NBC.

The musical special was hosted by Suzanne Somers and featured Minnie Mouse as the star.
Bearly Country Closes (1991)
On this day in 1991, the Bearly Country shop closed in Frontierland.

The store sold Country Bear Jamboree merchandise.
Disney’s Aida Has First Preview (2000)
On this day in 2000, Disney’s Aida had its first preview on Broadway.

The show features new original songs by Elton John and Tim Rice, and would official open on March 23, 2000.
Disney Sells the Mighty Ducks (2005)
On this day in 2005, Disney officially sold the Mickey Ducks.

Following the sale of the team to Henry Samueli, the franchise was renamed simply the “Ducks”.
Alice in Wonderland Premiers (2010)
On this day in 2010, Alice in Wonderland premiered in London.

Disney’s live-action version of the classic Lewis Carrol story starred Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway. The film was directed by Tim Burton.
A Time Capsule is Buried at Disney California Adventure (2012)
On this day in 2012, Imagineers and Cast Members buried a time capsule at Disney California Adventure.

The capsule is to eventually be opened by Disneyland Resort Cast Members in 2037.
Bob Iger Steps Down (2020)
Finally, On this day in 2020, Disney announced that Bob Iger was stepping down from his role as Disney CEO. Iger was succeeded by Bob Chapek.

Less than three years later, Iger would return to his CEO position after Bob Chapek was let go.
