Disney’s “My First” Line of Toys Recalled
If you have purchased a “My First” Disney toy recently, you should be aware that the products have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
According to U.S. consumer safety officials, 16,140 of the “My First” Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Buzz Lightyeaer, and Stitch figurines are included in the recall. In addition to the figures sold in the United States, another 600 units were sold in Canada.
Why the Recall?
Officials state that the small Disney figurines have detachable arms and legs, which can pose a choking hazard for small children.
The “My First” Disney figures were sold at BuyBuy Baby and other toy, gift, and bookstores across the United States as well as online on Amazon between May 2022 and December 2022. The toys originally sold for between $15 and $19.
Prior to the recall, the CPSC said it received 10 reports of small parts detaching from the figures. However, thankfully no injuries had been reported.
