First Blooms Arrive for 2023 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival!
Spring has sprung over at Epcot, with the very first blooms of the 2023 International Flower & Garden Festival starting to sprout at the park!
While enjoying a sunny stroll around the park this weekend, our MickeyBlog reporters were stoked to see that the very first signs of a fan-favorite Epcot festival were starting to appear.

The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is a springtime favorite for foodies, gardeners, growers and more, and it’s always an exciting time when the first shoots start to sprout in celebration!
Although the festival isn’t due to begin until March 1st, we always see work going into the park’s transformation begin in plenty of time. After all, beautiful flowers don’t bloom overnight!
Each year, beds all around Epcot are filled with gorgeous floral murals, waterways are filled with floating arrangements, and spectacular topiaries appear in all corners of the park. So much planning and design is involved, but the Walt Disney Imagineers and gardening teams never fail to captivate and delight at the annual festival year after year! So, it’s definitely not uncommon for us to start seeing “signs of spring” sooner than anticipated, with festival preparations getting underway early.
In fact, there’s actually a bit of an overlap going on here right now! The 2023 Epcot International Festival of the Arts is still taking place, and isn’t scheduled to wrap up until February 20th.
You can see various works of art displayed on the border walls in these photos, as well as the paint-by-numbers mural experience for guests in the distance behind these beautiful beds!
While we could easily argue that these spectacular flowerbeds and floral arrangements provide an epic extension of the artwork, it’s true that guests visiting the park over the next week will be treated to all the fun of the Festival of the Arts, while still getting to experience the scenery and atmosphere of the Flower & Garden Festival.
That’s double the fun, and double the festivity! What’s not to love?
As the Flower & Garden Festival draws nearer, it’s not just physical progress we’re seeing in the parks, but more news as to the fest is starting to crop up, too. As well as all the details for the event, Disney has shared some exciting information about new experiences and offerings that we simply cannot wait for!
As well as this, an awesome line up has been revealed for the fan-favorite Garden Rocks concert series, which you can check out here!
While we eagerly await the arrival of March 1st, we’ll continue to monitor and enjoy the beautiful floral displays begin to blossom around the park. We absolutely adore the colors and designs of these huge beds around the water – especially the hidden Mickeys!
We can also expect to start seeing displays such as topiaries crop up soon in different areas all around the park. Character topiaries are fan-favorites at the festival year after year, so we can’t wait to start spotting them on our visits to Epcot very soon!
