The Walt Disney Company Aims To Deliver a Better Guest Experience at the Parks
Last night The Walt Disney Company underwent its Q1 FY23 Earnings Results Webcast, and some important news came out of it. It seems that after listening to fans, Disney is aiming to deliver a better guest experience.
Breaking News
Yesterday, we shared some breaking news during the meeting, which was the first since Bob Iger’s return as CEO. Guest satisfaction was a running theme, exhibited in elements such as franchise integration within Disney Parks.
It seems that after Bob Chapek’s reign at The Walt Disney Company, Disney is looking to repair the damage with Guests. We learned more about Bob Iger’s vision for Disney Parks, and were treated with exciting news for the future, like the new Avatar-themed attraction coming to Disneyland!
Better Guest Experience
Disney journalist Scott Gustin shared some slides from the presentation last night on Twitter. They reveal a business model “focused on delivering a better guest experience.”
Disney posted its earnings presentation earlier tonight — and it includes multiple slides about how Disney is "focused on delivering a better guest experience" and making changes at domestic parks after listening to its guests. A few notes: pic.twitter.com/j1TJEYPwdF

Let’s take a look at some of the ways Disney intends to do this. As you can see in the blue section, Disney stands by the reservation system as a way to manage attendance, providing an improved Guest experience for all types of visitors.
Yesterday, we shared that Park Pass Reservations are here to stay, at least for the near future. In addition, Disney aims to “increase flexibility and add value” via “increased availability of the lowest price tickets, more access for AP and Park Hopper tickets, and select complimentary digital photo downloads and resort parking.”
On the right side of the slide, Disney addresses how it can bring “stories and characters to life in new ways.” The Company plans to continue doing this by investing in new attractions and experiences at its Theme Parks.
Disney goes on to list recent/upcoming openings to show how they’re actively following through. Included are Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and Mickey’s Toontown transformation at Disneyland, and TRON Lightcycle / Run and Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana at Disney World.
Also included are additions at Disney Parks across the sea. World of Frozen will soon open at Hong Kong Disneyland, with a Zootopia-Theme Land debuting at Shanghai Disney Resort.
So, what do you think of these plans from Disney? Do you feel The Walt Disney Company is truly listening, and attempting to create a better Guest experience?
Thank you for eliminating the resort parking fees. If I could make a suggestion about allowing all the resorts to have the same perks…for example extended after hours available to all resorts not just the deluxe resorts. Not everyone can afford to stay at a deluxe resort. Please please bring back the Dining plans! They are super convenient. Thanks for listening to my requests 😊
Great suggestions!
Please bring back the Dining Plan and maybe a discount for Canadian visitors. Considering we have to add on about 30 percent to our cost, a discount across the board of 20 percent seems reasonable.
Thank you for sharing!
