Disney World Removes Splash Mountain Landmark + More Updates
We have more updates for you today, regarding construction at Magic Kingdom. Disney World has removed an iconic landmark from Splash Mountain.
Splash Mountain
MickeyBlog has been bringing you the latest from Splash Mountain upon its recent closure. Soon after it shut down, Disney World began removing elements from the Park.
Narrations onboard the Walt Disney World Railroad and Liberty Square Riverboat were either altered or completely removed. Tip boards that formerly showed the attraction as closed, eliminated Splash Mountain altogether.
Signage was taken down, leaving a bare spot in its place. Scaffolding went up as signs of its The Princess and the Frog transformation began to appear.
Recently, we shared about Tiana’s Foods signs spotted all over the barriers in front of the ride. It’s no surprise that we’ll be seeing more and more changes at the nostalgic attraction.
Splash Mountain will transition into its retheme, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in late 2024. That being said, it’s still alarming for fans to see some of its memorable elements taken away.

MickeyBlog is at Magic Kingdom today and stopped by the ride to see what’s new. We noticed several notable updates that occurred overnight.
Let’s take a look at some images from the site.
Iconic Landmark Removal
The most notable update is Disney World’s removal of an iconic statue. Featuring Br’er Rabbit, it was a landmark in the area.

For reference, here’s how the entrance used to look.
Although we knew it was coming, it’s still surprising to see it gone.
More Updates
We also noticed more scaffolding surrounding Splash Mountain.
As you can see, there are several Tiana’s Foods signs plastered to the boards.
Recently, signage was removed from the play area.
It no longer appears on the equipment or at the entrance.
For now, until its unveiling as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, it pretty much looks like a ghost town.
