Haunted Mansion
This attraction has been a fixture of New Orleans Square for over 50 years. Debuting in 1969, it’s a spooktacular hit with Guests!

Your voyage starts in a stretching room with no windows or doors. If you can find a way out, you’ll traverse through an eerie hallway filled with odd paintings.
After boarding the attraction, you’re escorted through a ghastly tour of the haunted house. Filled with illusions and Animatronics, it’s a favorite among visitors.

The Ghost Host is your guide through iconic scenes like the conservatory’s rattling casket and Madame Leota’s room. Apparitions are in abundance in the Grand Ballroom, and at the cemetery, where they’ll entertain you with music!
Haunted Mansion Holiday
Originally inspired by Walt’s visit to the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California, it takes on a different ambiance over the holidays. During Halloween Time and the Christmas season at Disneyland Resort, it morphs into a The Nightmare Before Christmas theme.

Filled with fantastic characters from the film, you’ll find Jack, Sally, Zero, Oogie Boogie, and more! Special decor and music are added to both the outside and inside making it feel like an entirely different attraction!
It’s something Guests look forward to every year! The downside to its transformation is its closure for both the setup and takedown process.
Disneyland’s official site currently says, “Haunted Mansion has transformed into Haunted Mansion Holiday—open through January 29, 2023. Beginning January 30, 2023, Haunted Mansion will be closed for refurbishment and will reopen on February 10, 2023.”
The Countdown Begins
Disney Parks updated Guests today on Twitter, teasing that its reopening is fast approaching! The tweet says, “Three more days until the Haunted Mansion materializes at Disneyland!!!”
