Mr. Toad Arrives on Main Street USA

J. Thaddeus Toad once again seems to have found a home in the Magic Kingdom, although it may not be where you expect!

When entering the Town Square Theater on Main Street USA today, guests were greeted by a large statue of Mr. Toad, proudly showcasing his deed to Toad Hall.

We haven’t seen much of Mr. Toad since he was evicted for Winnie the Pooh in 1998. However, he has been known to linger around the Magic Kingdom.

A Relocated Art of Disney

In addition to the large Mr. Toad statue, the Town Square Theater has also received a ton of new Art of Disney merchandise.

This artwork seems to be the inventory that was formerly sold at Bonjour Village Gifts in Fantasyland.

That store received an cute makeover, centered around the Disney ily 4EVER Doll Collection and Valentines day.

The Town Square Theater actually seems like a great place for an Art of Disney store. It even fits in with the location’s lineage as a photography shopping location! After all, who doesn’t miss the old Town Square Exposition Hall!

Will This Change Be Permanent?

While the addition of the Art of Disney merchandise, and Mr. Toad, gives the Town Square Theater a different, feel it remains to be seen how permanent the changes are.

If Bonjour Village Gifts returns to its previous look after Valentine’s Day, the Art of Disney merchandise could be returned to that location.

For fans of Disney history however, the bigger news is Mr. Toad. It’s great to see our old friend prominently featured in the Magic Kingdom. Even if it is just in a gift shop. Hopefully Disney will continue to pay its respects to this former icon of the Magic Kingdom.
