EPCOT Parking Lot Rows Reveal Spark of Inspiration
With EPCOT’s 40th anniversary now behind us, the park’s remarkable transformation appears to be in its final stages. For those who find themselves quite engrossed in Disney nostalgia, the return to the park’s throwback fonts brings such delight, even in the details that popped up this week in the parking lot.
The Big Changes to EPCOT
EPCOT’s multi-year reinvention appears to be nearing its completion. Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana continues to rapidly take shape as a focal point of the theme park. Thrillingly, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind now blasts guests into an epic adventure to save the galaxy.
Now, the signange and labeling in the EPCOT parking lot appears to be getting a retro upgrade in line with much of the park’s rebranding. With futuristic fonts resembling those that defined the park when it opened on Oct. 1, 1981, the parking lot paint job highlights details that once again define the unique theme park.
Each section is now named after a popular character featured in one of the park’s neighborhoods. We spotted a grouping of spaces named after “Guardians” hero, Rocket.
Another area ironically celebrates Dory, the beloved yet absent-minded blue tang featured in The Seas with Nemo and Friends. We can only imagine the jokes that might pop up once people remember that they are parked in this section.
With her attraction almost completed, it’s no surprise that Moana also received her own section of parking lot. Clearly, she hopes to make sure guests remember that they “know the way” when searching for their cars.
As usual, the Disney details really stand out even in the new parking lot organization. Hopefully, both the bold lettering as well as the colorful signs will help people to locate their vehicles after a fantastic day spent at enjoying all that EPCOT offers.
Stay tuned for more as EPCOT continues to pull down the walls surrounding its incredible construction to reveal all that is new for the innovative theme park.
