Review: Pimento Fritters, Beignets, and Live Jazz at Scat Cat’s Club!
Tucked away in the corner, the Scat Cat’s Club is very easy to miss when you enter the French Quarter. The dimly lit lounge is shuttered during the daytime hours, making it very easy to pass by. In the evenings though, the doors are opened wide and the sound of live jazz floods the lobby building.
The Scat Cat’s Club is an overlooked, very underrated lounge at Port Orleans French Quarter, and we’ve got three great reasons for you to visit!
Specialty (And Not So Specialty) Cocktails
Like all WDW Lounges, the Scat Cat’s Club features their share of signature cocktails. Inspired by New Orleans’ energetic French Quarter, the drinks on the menu here are designed to make you feel like you’re sitting in a club in NOLA.
We opted for the Southern Hurricane. The famed drink of NOLA, the Southern Hurricane features all the same ingredients that made it famous down in the bayou. The flavors blend together fantastically, but it’s about as strong as a hurricane, too…so be warned!
We also ordered an Old Fashioned. While not on the menu, a classic Old Fashioned is always a great way to tell how good of a bartender is serving you. Ours was perfect, with the exact right amount of each ingredient!
Food
The food at the Scat Cat’s Club was the surprise highlight of my visit. We got the Mardi Gras Fritters, which turned out to be this fantastic combination of deliciously fried pimento cheese topped with a pepper jelly.
The outside was crispy, the pimento cheese was plentiful, and the pepper jelly served as a phenomenal contrast to the dish.
No visit, and I mean NO VISIT to French Quarter should culminate without beignets. You can order any iteration of beignets you’d like at the Scat Cat’s Club…even if they aren’t on the menu!
We ordered the traditional beignets with strawberry sauce, and were immediately sent to beignet heaven as always.
Live Jazz
The live jazz is one of Scat Cat’s crowning glories. A jazz trio plays tunes from sultry to Disney-inspired, with funky riffs and spicy keys solos sprinkled throughout.
Sipping on our drinks and enjoying our food was only made better by the live music. I love that you can sit front and center and enjoy every aspect of the show, or choose a side table that allows for both chatting and listening.
Overall, we highly recommend you check out the Scat Cat’s Club on your next visit to Port Orleans!

We love The French Quarter and stayed there a few weeks ago during our annual Christmas visit. We had not visited the lounge before until this visit and this was our third stay there. Loved the lounge!
