Disney’s Animal Kingdom Debuts ‘The Lion King’ Themed Sunrise Cupcake
Our MickeyBlogger is at Walt Disney World today, where she sampled a new, sweet treat. The Sunrise Cupcake recently debuted at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and it features a The Lion King theme!
Let’s take a closer look at the item. We’ll share our tasting notes as well!
Sunrise Cupcake
Although we picked up our treat at Flame Tree Barbecue, the Sunrise Cupcake is also available at other locations within Animal Kingdom. The item goes for $5.99.
It includes chocolate cake, vanilla custard filling, vanilla buttercream, white chocolate artwork, and sunrise-colored sprinkles. Wow, that sounds delicious!

We love the vibrant exterior of this cupcake! Bright shades of yellow, red, and orange make up its color scheme.
The sweet treat comes in scalloped, yellow wrapping.
The Lion King Themed
White chocolate artwork features an iconic image of Simba, Pumba, and Timon from the beloved Disney film.
Our MickeyBlogger, Kristen, notes that the chocolate cake is nice and moist. In addition, the vanilla custard filling has a smooth, and creamy consistency.
Although there was a lot of frosting on top, overall, the cupcake was delicious. The simplicity of flavors may not impress adults, but kids would absolutely love this item!
Flame Tree Barbecue
Located on Discovery Island, Flame Tree Barbecue is known for its smokehouse meats and chicken dinners. Featuring traditional sides like baked beans and coleslaw, Guests can also find refreshing salads at the location.
