Fantasy In the Sky Fireworks Bring New Year’s Fun To Magic Kingdom
2023 has come early for lucky guests at Magic Kingdom theme park this evening as Disney debuted the Fantasy in the Sky New Year’s Eve Fireworks one day early.
This is a pretty common occurrence at Magic Kingdom as New Year’s Eve crowds tend to be so big that not everyone gets a chance to ring in the New Year on December 31st.
For that reason, they give guests at the park on the 30th a chance to take part in the festivities!
Our MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa got to the park just as the sun was setting to take in this celebratory display!
As you can see, the crowds were jam-packed in front of Cinderella Castle.
The 6:30 pm show is the first of two Fantasy in the Sky fireworks displays taking place this evening.
The second will take place at 11:50, just before the park closes for the day.
These festive fireworks are not to be missed!
As you can see, Fantasy in the Sky also includes stunning Cinderella Castle lighting sequences that are sure to dazzle!
The skies over Magic Kingdom light up in a beautiful bouquet of colorful pyrotechnics!
It was definitely an emotional moment as we prepare to welcome 2023.
There’s nothing quite like fireworks at Disney. Check out the gorgeous champagne-colored firework above erupting into lots of tiny fireworks!
Fantasy in the Sky takes its name from the original Disneyland fireworks.
Its been through many incarnations over the years and is occasionally used to ring in a celebration at Disney World.
Of course it has seen many changes over the years and now uses new projections form Disney Enchantment.
There’s also new narration.
However Fantasy in the Sky still remains a wonderful bit of nostalgia!
There will also be two performances at the same times tomorrow night.
Guests will definitely want to arrive early to secure yourself a spot.
The park was very busy tonight- we can only imagine what it will be like tomorrow.
Also be on the lookout for DJs, dance parties, special eats and treats as well as 2023 merchandise.
In addition to Fantasy in the Sky, New Year’s Eve festivities are also taking place at Hollywood Studios and EPCOT!

Signage is also posted near the HUB advising guests that there are other fireworks viewing areas. The signage recommends Fantasyland and Tomorrowland!
