Walt Disney Archives: Animated Movies Arrives at Port of Entry
If I could add one thing to Walt Disney World, it would be a bookstore. While in the past, the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village, Disney-MGM Studios, and the Magic Kingdom have all had dedicated places to purchase books, those locations have all been removed.
Imagine a shop that had all of books Walt Disney World has released over the years! I would never leave.
While it may not be a book store, Port of Entry at EPCOT has been known to carry a hardcover or two. Today, when visiting the store, we came upon The Walt Disney Archives: Animated Movies 1921-1968.
The Walt Disney Archives: Animated Movies 1921-1968 was written and curated by author Daniel Kothenschulte, who was granted accesses to the Walt Disney Archives.
The book dedicates a chapter to every major animated film created by Disney during Walt’s lifetime. If you ever wanted to take a deeper dive into the creation of Dumbo, Cinderella, or Pinocchio, this is the book for you!
My favorite part of the book is the astounding number of concept paintings and storyboards for each film. It is so interesting to see how the designs of these famous Disney characters developed over time.
Finally, if you are interested in the “deeper cuts” such as the Silly Symphonies, this book has you covered!
The Walt Disney Archives: Animated Movies 1921-1968 would be a great addition to any Disney library. The book is also compact, you don’t have to worry about finding a place to keep it.
Right now The Walt Disney Archives: Animated Movies 1921-1968 is available at Port of Entry over at EPCOT. However if you can’t visit Walt Disney World, it is also available anywhere books are sold.
