John Sinclair
A few years ago, the Orlando Sentinel gave fans an inside look at John Sinclair. Most know him as the regular conductor of EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional, but he’s also a Rollins College professor, Messiah Choral Society conductor, and musical director of the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park.

On top of that, he’s an author! In 2019, Sinclair released a memoir entitled, “Falling Off the Podium and other Life Lessons.”
Reading more like a collection of essays, it gives fans a look at his life behind the scenes. In it, he shares personal stories and anecdotes.

For example, once upon a time, he had an amusing encounter with Fred Rogers from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Sinclair gave Rogers his cufflinks after he noticed him admiring them.
When Rogers died in 2003, the cufflinks arrived at the conductor’s house. A simple note enclosed read, “To John, my friend, thank you for sharing these with me.”

Sinclair shares, “The cufflinks aren’t special just because Fred Rogers had worn them. They’re special because he thought it was important to return them to me as his time was drawing near.”
