It’s Time to Celebrate 70 Years of Imagineering

Just a few days ago, we recognized the loss of Walt Disney on December 15, 1966.  Not long after we reflected on and celebrated his life, it’s now time to celebrate 70 years of Imagineering.

Walt Disney Imagineering released the video below on their YouTube channel.  It walks us through the impressive progression of the Disney Imagineering story.

As we reflect together on 70 years of growth and progress, the video opens up with a barren Disneyland in its very beginning stages.  Of course, it instantly focuses on Walt’s initial vision.

Walt believed in his vision, but he knew it required people to make it a reality.  Walt’s high standards required those who surrounded him to share his vision.  They, too, must believe that they could make anything come to life.

Walt Disney believed that “Disneyland is the thing I can keep molding and shaping.  It’s a three-dimensional thing to play with.”

Of course, Imagineers are continuously enthusiastic and optimistic about the future of Disney Parks.  The magic of Disney Imagineering is the extreme detail and thought put into each, individual project.  Thus, they are the people who directly connect us to the stories.

So, can you imagine the amount of emotion involved in working so hard on a Disney project for years?  Then, it finally opens to the public, and children of all ages enjoy the very project you poured your heart and soul into.

Truly, Disney Imagineering is a camaraderie and a family like no other.  Therefore, Walt Disney’s original belief that dreams lie within the hearts, actions, and shared visions of people is exactly correct.

Hence, thanks to Disney Imagineering, we are able to visit Disney Parks and Resorts around the world and be immersed in a place where we forget our troubles. Somewhere we can feel childlike again, even if just for a few days.
