BREAKING: More Details Emerge For Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Coming in 2024
It’s an exciting day for news about the upcoming re-imagining of Splash Mountain – Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. If you’ve been following along with us this morning, you’ll know that Splash Mountain is slated to close on January 23.2023 for work to start on the attraction. In addition, Disney also shared a few addition details about the Magic Kingdom ride that we’re excited to share.
Disney Imagineers have spent the last few months doing research in the Big Easy (New Orleans) where the events of beloved film The Princess and the Frog takes place. This helped create the amazing backstory for the ride. Guests will join Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis during Mardi Gras. The duo are preparing to host a one-of-a-kind celebration for Fat Tuesday.
This exciting story will be unveiled to guests from your very first drop into the bayou. During your cruise along the waterway, you’ll find friends both new and familiar.
Disney tells us that fireflies will light up the night sky as you head deeper and deeper into the bayou during your journey. Beautiful zydeco music will set perfect soundtrack for your excursion. For those unfamiliar, Zydeco is a special blend of rhythm and blues that was born in Louisiana.
Louis will explain to riders where the music comes from while Tiana makes some new friends including an otter, rabbit, racoon a beaver, turtle and more! This critter band will sing and pay instruments made of materials they found in the bayou.
Zydeco celebrates the sounds and styles of many cultures. This is echoed in the bayou scene of the ride where guests well feel like you’re part of the festivities.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take guests on a musical journey inspired by the story and characters from the film. To get ready for these exciting changes, Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World will be officially closing on January 23, 2023. The Disneyland Splash Mountain refurbishment will be happening at a later date.
