Subtropical Storm Nicole Forms and Threatens Florida Later This Week
Subtropical Storm Nicole has formed in the Atlantic and is churning toward the east coast of Florida this week. Impacts could be felt as early as Wednesday.
Nicole is forecasted to be a large storm with widespread impacts being felt all across Central Florida. Tropical storms force winds and heavy rainfall are to be expected.
“On the forecast track, the center of Nicole will approach the northwestern Bahamas on Tuesday, move near or over those islands on Wednesday, and approach the east coast of Florida by Wednesday night,” said NHC senior hurricane specialist Robbie Berg.
A Tropical Storm Watch is now in effect for portions of Central Florida.
Nicole could very well reach hurricane strength given how warm the waters are near the Bahamas. We will stay updated with this storm throughout the next couple of days.
