Disney CFO is Looking After Our Waistlines by Cutting Salad Portions
Disney shrunk their salad portion sizes in the last two weeks. MickeyBloggers on location noticed this today while at Hollywood Studios. Additionally, on a previous earnings call, CFO Christine McCarthy said Disney “can cut portion size, which is probably good for some people’s waistlines.” We’re so glad Disney higher ups are looking after our waistlines by cutting salad portions!
The Cesar Salad from PizzeRizzo you see below was double this size at least 2 weeks ago. It used to be served in a taller clear cup.
This salad is smaller than a kid’s Mac and Cheese portion. Is Disney really looking after our waistlines by cutting salad portions? Uhm… No.
This salad used to be perfect for a light lunch… but today more food was definitely needed. Best of all, this salad is still the same price it was 2 weeks ago!
At PizzeRizzo, you can get a cup of mac and cheese, plus two sides (apples, fries, cookie, etc… with varying availability) as a kid’s meal for a mere $7.23. But for this little salad that could… $4.04. What a sad little salad.
On the prior quarterly earnings call, Walt Disney company CFO Christine McCarthy was asked how Disney’s handling rising inflation.
“We have things on the cost of goods side,” McCarthy said. “And it’s interesting. Just last week… I was talking to our parks senior team about things we could do there. And there are lots of things that are worth talking about. We can adjust suppliers. We can substitute products. we can cut portion sizes, which is probably good for some people’s waistlines.”
In all actuality, it seems like Disney is intent on improving that bottom line at all costs.
