Every Disney+ Day Announcement You Might Have Missed
Disney+ Day 2022 has come and gone. Once again, Disney flexed its streaming muscle to deliver high-quality content to fans.
So much happened that you couldn’t possibly have kept up with it all. Here’s everything you might have missed on Disney+ Day.
(Editor’s note: We’re updating this post throughout the day as news breaks.)
Andor Trailer
On September 21st – less than two weeks from now! – the highly anticipated Disney+ series, Andor, will debut.
As part of Disney+ Day, the streaming service gave subscribers a special treat. We gained access to an exclusive final trailer for the series.
Since the internet is what it is, some folks immediately uploaded the video. Here’s a look:

Obi-Wan Kenobi, the most recent Star Wars series on Disney+, absolutely dominated and provided a satisfying resolution for fans as well.
Now, Star Wars fans can watch a prequel to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Even better, Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor in the series.
Because of the movie, we know how Andor died. But we don’t know all he achieved while alive. This new Disney+ show will fill in the blanks.
The BTS Surprise
MickeyBlog told you a few weeks ago that Disney+ had signed a licensing deal with the world’s most popular boy band, BTS.
At the time, speculation centered on two BTS concerts debuting in 2023. I’m happy to report that Disney+ Day starts with a pleasant surprise.
The time is now! 💜💜

BTS: Permission to Dance is available to watch now! That’s terrific news for a vocal subset of music fans…and a waking nightmare for their family members.
This concert lasts more than two hours. So, I’ll be blunt. Today’s a day when everyone in the house should wear headphones.
Cars on the Road
We’d known this was coming, but the Cars reunion is now available on Disney+.
In this series of nine animated shorts, Lightning McQueen joins his buddy, Mater, on a road trip. Their destination is Mater’s sister’s wedding.

I haven’t watched the show yet, but I skimmed through the episode descriptions. I came across the words “zombie sci-film film” and “perilous Thundercone.”
The entire series is 105 minutes long, which means it’s really about 80 minutes without credits. So, it’s like getting a new Cars movie…with a Thundercone! Cue the Tina Turner music!
Dancing with the Stars Season 31 Cast Revealed
Disney has swung for the fences here. As former CEO Bob Iger publicly declares a day of reckoning for linear television, his replacement adapts.
Current Disney CEO Bob Chapek has taken the bold step of moving a popular reality show competition, Dancing with the Stars, to Disney+.
On September 19th, fans will watch the series at its new, permanent home. To date, Disney+ has never broadcast something of this scale live.
Sure, some theme park presentations had occurred, but Dancing with the Stars resides on a different level. Roughly 5.6 million people watched the season 30 finale.
So, this step matters greatly to Disney and the streaming industry as a whole.
Depending on how old you are and your viewer preferences, the most prominent names this season are Wayne Brady, Charli D’Amelio, Cheryl Ladd, or Teresa Giudice.
GMA posted the entire cast and their bios if you’re interested. The next episode of Dancing with the Stars I watch will be the first, so I’m not the expert here.
Dancing with the Stars enters a whole new world with this cast! ✨

However, I will point out that Disney+ includes a new video, Dancing with the Stars: The Pros’ Most Memorable Dances. And it’s nearly an hour long!
The Disney+ Day Deal
I recognize that many of you already subscribe to Disney+. However, I want to bring a limited-time offer to the attention of those who don’t.
From now through September 19th, new and former subscribers can add Disney+ for $1.99 for the first month. After that, you’ll be billed $7.99 per month.
So, if there’s anything you’ve been wanting to binge on Disney+ — and there really should be! – you can watch for 30 days for less than the price of a cup of coffee.
Pro tip: While signing up, set an auto-reminder on your phone or Alexa/Google device to remind you to cancel in 29 days.
Frozen Sing-Alongs
Disney+ has added a Celebrate Disney+ Day section today, and it’s the only place you need to look for content.
Here, you’ll discover new streaming shows and movies, plus some enhancements to existing ones.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll head straight to Frozen and Frozen II. In addition, Disney has added Sing-Along options for all the movie music.
I’m rocking out to Lost in the Woods as I type this. No, really.
Presuming that you and your family have caught Frozen Fever, you can expect to go through another Let It Go phase for the next several days.
In fact, you may not stop there. Disney+ has added an entire Sing-Alongs section that also included Tangled, The Lion King, Moana, Encanto, and many more.
Pinocchio
Bear with me a moment. There’s a comic book named Fables that became the inspiration for an ABC you know and probably love, Once Upon a Time.
Disney snatched the rights to Fables and then created its own story rather than using the one that author Bill Willingham wrote.
That’s undoubtedly for the best because Disney fans would live in fear of Geppetto if they read Fables or watch an authentic adaptation.
For this reason, I’ve been slightly unsettled about the Pinocchio live-action remake for a while.
I love Tom Hanks just as much as the next person, but I struggle to dissociate Geppetto from The Adversary these days.
Anyway, Pinocchio is now available on Disney+. Unfortunately, reviews sound like they’re from others who read Fables, which is to say: not good.
As I type this, Pinocchio is only 32 percent fresh, indicating that two out of every three critics dislike it.
Even more alarmingly, the Audience Score is 48 percent, which is LOW. I’m talking scarily low. I’m afraid this one’s a miss.
You might be better served to watch the original Pinocchio instead…or read Fables.
Remembering
On a recent podcast, I described this as Journey into Imagination with Figment starring Brie Larson.
Those of you familiar with the EPCOT ride get the gist. Marvel icon Larson portrays a writer who gets interrupted right as inspiration strikes…which is extremely relatable to me.
While she forgets the idea, it takes on a life of its own. We go on an eight-minute journey recounting the interactions between the idea and the writer’s inner child.
You can watch this story play out on Disney+. However, Disney encourages you to visit Disney.com/remembering or download the Remembering AR app from your phone’s app store.
Celebrate #DisneyPlusDay with Remembering, an all-new short, now streaming.
Plus, #DisneyPlus subscribers can bring The World of Imagination into their very own room at https://t.co/NnJllHoVcD. pic.twitter.com/Pz9jUmNdsV

Thor: Love and Thunder
Oh, you don’t know how happy this makes me.
Thor: Love and Thunder is now available to watch and rewatch on Disney+. I plan to do so immediately, as I find the movie charming. Here’s my review.
Offbeat director Taika Waititi returns to once again inject his inimitable brand of humor and wisdom into the MCU.
Please don’t let the often-miserable internet influence your preconceived notions here, either. For once, I don’t hold a minority opinion on a film.
Thor: Love and Thunder claims Rotten Tomatoes scores of 65 percent and 77 percent. So, critics and audiences alike find the project charming.
How could they not? Thor visits the pantheon of all deities while his ex-girlfriend claims Mjolnir and evolves into a superhero as well.
This movie will delight comic book fans, especially those who adore Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth. As for Christian Bale, honestly, you’ll barely even recognize him.
Welcome to the Club
We’ve also got a new Simpsons short today, and it’s brilliant. Little Lisa has her heart set on becoming a Disney Princess.
Somewhere along the way, the child prodigy realizes that being bad comes with better perks.
Lisa and Ursula star in the first poster for the new 'The Simpsons' short 'Welcome to the Club.'

I won’t spoil anything that happens, but I give the writers credit for tweaking Disneyland over the Snow White’s Enchanted Wish controversy.
