Voice of Disney’s Pocahontas, Irene Bedard, Arrested in Ohio
Irene Bedard, who voiced the role of Pocahontas in the Disney film of the same name is in the news again after an arrest in Ohio. According to a recent piece in E! News, the actress was arrested for disorderly conduct last week in Xenia, Ohio. Reports filed by the police department say that Bedard was taken into custody after she was seen arguing with a woman on the sidewalk before walking into traffic while screaming.
Officers on the scene reported that Bedard smelled of alcohol. In the report, the officer wrote, “I attempted to try to get her to give me a name of someone who could come and care for her, but she would not give me anything. I also offered to take her to the hospital. But, she said the hospital wouldn’t help her.”
During the altercation, officers observed erratic behavior from Bedard including almost knocking over a table and backing into a glass window. Authorities decided to arrest Bedard given that there was no one to call on her behalf, according to the piece on E! News.
Earlier that day, Xenia police officers also received calls about a woman passed out in the bushes which they believe also may have been Bedard. The actress is set to be arraigned on August 29th.
The last time MickeyBlog reported on Bedard was back in December of 2020 when she was also arrested in Ohio after a couple of drunken incidents. At that time, police were called to the scene in Beavercreek, Ohio for a report of domestic violence that took place at Bedard’s ex-husband’s house. According to officers the actress was found with a belt in her hand. Police said that Bedard tried to start a physical altercation with her 17 year-old son and was noticeably intoxicated. Her son opted not to press charges.
