Kid-Friendly Food & Wine Festival Treats
If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog then you’ll know that the 2022 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is currently in full swing at Walt Disney World. This celebration of all things culinary will run until mid-November and a highlight are the incredible Global Marketplaces you’ll find scattered around the World Showcase. Here you’ll find a wide array of savory, sweet and liquid treats!
If you’ll be visiting EPCOT with your family between now and November, don’t overlook the Food & Wine Fest as a dining destination. As you can imagine with Disney, these treats are just for grown-ups. There’s actually some great options for kids from the adventurous to the picky. Here are a few of my favorites!
Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup- Canada
I’m going to start with my daughter’s favorite Food & Wine Festival treat! Something to look forward to annually, the Cheddar Cheese soup is absolutely divine. It comes in the perfect serving for tiny tots and the pretzel roll for dipping also makes kids smile!
Frozen Apple Pie- Appleseed Orchard (In Canada Far and Wide Theater)
If you’re visiting during late summer or early fall, get ready to experience the heat (along with the occasional downpour.) Whether your trying to stay dry or hydrated, Appleseed Orchard is an indoor marketplace that kids our sure to love. You’ll find apple tarts, bags of apple chips or if you really want to wow the little ones – a Frozen Apple Pie! This treat features frozen apple juice and apple pie crumbles and is a perfect way to beat the heat. We also have two more words for you regarding Appleseed Orchard – air conditioning!
Bangers & Mash – Ireland
What kid doesn’t like sausages and mashed potatoes! Perfect for a light lunch or mid-afternoon snack, this Ireland marketplace entre is comfort food at its best! The You get two Irish Sausages heaped over nice portion of colcannon potatoes with an onion gravy over the top!
Pão de Queijo- Brazil
If you’re kids like to keep things simple, then you can meet them half way with this Brazilian Cheese Bread! Its simple, delicious and just fun enough to keep kids captivated!
Belgian Waffles – Belgium
If you share our family’s mindset that calories don’t count when your at Disney, then you’ll want to head to the Belgium marketplace where there are two sweet Belgian waffles this year for kids to choose from. The first comes covered with a dollop of whipped cream and a warm chocolate ganache. the second comes with a hefty spoonful of a sweet berry compote. Trust me when I say that both are divine!
Mini Pina Colada Funnel Cake – Funnel Cake
Be on the lookout for your favorite fairground treat giving a huge level up by Disney! The Mini Pina Colada Funnel Cake comes with pina colada ice cream, whipped cream, toasted coconut and maraschino cherry drizzled with a coconut rum sauce!
Passion Fruit Bubble Tea – China
China’s menu has a few things that kids might like this year. There’s chick potstickers, a beef bao bun and even slightly spicy pork noodles in a peanut butter sauce. However, if you have a tween like I do then changes are the bubble tea is all the rage. This is a great place to get one. The flavor is passion fruit and its the perfect, refreshing and slightly tropical treat.
Mac & Cheese – Mac & Eats (Near Mission: SPACE)
That’s right, there’s a whole booth at this year’s Food & Wine Festival devoted to the ultimate comfort food – Mac & Cheese. Its served up here three ways, Traditional Mac & Cheese with herbed panko, Cowboy Macaroni & Cheese with smoked port belly, brisket burnt ends, pickled peppers, onion straws and barbecue aioli. There’s also a Chili-Cheese Macaroni & Cheese with sour cream and cheddar cheese No matter how adventurous you’re feeling during your EPCOT visit you’re sure to find a version you love!
Fry Flight – The Fry Basket (Near Test Track)
While we’re on the subject of comfort food, if you’re kids love French Fries then they’ll love it when you tell them there’s an entire marketplace devoted to this beloved snack. You can order up the Fry Flight that comes with fries served with sea salt and malt vinegar, barbecue bacon fries with smoked aioli and sweet potato fries with candied pecans, toasted marshmallow cream and a caramel sauce.
Chicken Wings – Brew-Wing
If you’re family loves chicken wings then seek out this spot. They have a variety of different wings. First up are the peanut butter and jelly wings served with peanut sauce and grape jelly. There’s also the garlic parmesan wings, traditional buffalo wings, sriracha-lime wings and dry-rubbed jerk-spiced wings with papaya chili sauce.
