Best Walt Disney World Quick Service Lunches That AREN’T Cheeseburgers!
Cheeseburgers are delicious, but let’s face it, after 3 days of them, you’re over it and looking for a change of cuisine, but are trying to save money by eating only at quick service restaurants.
Unlike other national theme parks, Walt Disney World is more than burgers and fries! Though, of course, they have those too…Here are the best quick service lunches that aren’t cheeseburgers!
Magic Kingdom
Aloha Isle
This may be an article about quick service meals, but where we’re from, Dole Whip is a meal when it is swirled on top of cake!
Yes, the Pineapple Upsidedown Cake is back! It is a big portion and both refreshing and filling.
Casey’s Corner
Note that the article specifically says not cheeseburgers…Casey’s Corner specializes in hot dogs, which is a pretty typical theme park food, but it is not fair to group this classic quick service in a category with those other theme parks.
One bite of Casey’s Corn Dog Nuggets and you will be hooked.
Columbia Harbour House
Ever dream of going to New England for some clam chowder? In Liberty Square you can go for a hearty lobster rolls, chowder in a bread bowl, or a nice shrimp lunch.
Friar’s Nook
They should rename this stand the munching hut! After enjoying a day of sweet treats, you’re only a little hungry and looking for a little salt.
Friar’s Nook has some rocking tater tot snacks! We love the Buffalo Chicken Totchos!
Gaston’s Tavern
Gaston’s is famously known for its huge cinnamon rolls, but did you know you can get a hearty melty ham and swiss on a baguette?
This is far from theme park food, and especially when it’s a cooler day, this sandwich hits the spot.
Golden Oak Outpost
I know that whenever someone is hungry on a million degree day, they are just hoping to reach for a hot fried fish sandwich at a quick service with literally zero seating. No?
We don’t think so either. It is probably delicious but the thought of hot fish on a hot humid day just does not sound appetizing.
The Lunching Pad
This is a very confused quick service stand that is only opened on very busy days. In and amongst hot dogs, mickey pretzels, churros, and slushies are Caribbean Jerk Chicken Fingers.
Odd, but we are so here for it! The cuisine of tomorrow is international fusion chicken fingers, my friends.
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe
Ole! Pecos Bill is your Tex Mex stop in Magic Kingdom. Bowls, burritos, tacos, and taco salads are perfect for hot days, and you know what’s better? Ample seating with fans and air conditioning.
Unfortunately, our beloved toppings bar has not returned to Pecos since it reopened, but we’re over here crossing our fingers to be able to add as many tomatoes on our burritos without judgment.
Pinocchio Village Haus
This quick service restaurant is our favorite one to sit in because it is immersive and beautiful to Italian design, and it overlooks “it’s a small world”! No cheeseburgers here, this restaurant features different flatbreads.
You can choose the american-style cheese and pepperoni or the fast food version of margherita and caprese. This restaurant isn’t bad, by any means, but let’s just say, manage your expectations.
Sleepy Hollow
Winner, winner, chicken dinner! You have to experience Sleepy Hollow’s nutella waffle, that is a must, but if you’re feeling hungry for something more savory, don’t skip on by! They have a sweet and “spicy” chicken waffle sandwich.
We put spicy in quotes because Disney doesn’t do anything actually spicy. Basically this is a huge chicken finger coated in a hot honey, topped with coleslaw , and wrapped in a warm waffle.
Tortuga Tavern
Want to try something new? Or something so indulgent that you could do at home, but you wouldn’t do at home?
How about a grilled peanut butter, nutella, and banana sandwich. Don’t overthink this one. Calories don’t count in Walt Disney World.
EPCOT
Obviously with the World Showcase in EPCOT, there is food everywhere, but very separated from the front of the park. Let’s pretend you’re not going into World Showcase and you get hungry. OK? Great.
Connections Eatery
Connections Eatery is predominantly burgers, we’ll admit, but they also have perfected quick-service pizza! We feel like with a foodie park like EPCOT we have to get the fanciest pizza available.
We go for the meatball pizza, which is a pizza with giant meatballs on it. If Lady and the Tramp taught us anything, it’s that meatballs are fancy!
Sunshine Seasons
Sunshine Seasons reminds us that sometimes you want fancy, and sometimes you want a fish taco with a cupcake!
Sunshine Seasons is a quick stop for a quick bite, but they do it very well. You can get chicken, fish, roast beef, and even great vegetable options.
Hollywood Studios
ABC Commissary
The ABC Commissary is anything but burgers. There are fresh chicken sandwiches, salads, and the occasional taco.
This is the Cinderella of quick service restaurants. It used to be nothing to write home about, but now everything has had a nice glow up.
BaseLine Tap House
Hollywood Studios may be the busiest of all the parks, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a good quick bite!
This is an awesome stop when on an adult-only adventure so you can thoroughly enjoy a good, but cheap charcuterie board and beers on draft.
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo
Docking Bay 7 is not only not cheeseburgers, it’s not even from this planet! Even if you order something chicken-like, (yes, it is actually chicken), it will be irregularly shaped, so it will be a new experience!
Dockside Diner
This is a strange combination of items on this menu. There’s 3: shrimp salad roll, smoked fish dip, chipotle chicken salad roll. That’s a strange combination. Just skip it and move on.
Fairfax Fare
Nothing quite as American as hot dogs, am I right? Fairfax Fare serves hot dogs that you never even imagined. Everything from the pretzel dog to the California BLT dog.
PizzeRizzo
Pizza Planet turned PizzeRizzo serves those personal pan pizzas that are often referred to as pillow pizzas.
We’re not mad at them. Who doesn’t love bread? These are not carb counter friendly because they are basically fluffy bread with a little sauce and a whisper of toppings.
Ronto Roasters
Apparently pitas are not from Greece after all, they are from the planet of Batuu! Ronto Roasters is famous for a sausage and slaw inside of a warm pita with a poppy seed dressing.
It is unique, salty, sweet, chewy, and messy! This is one Star Wars food that we are down with with no reservations!
Rosie’s All-American Cafe
For us normal carnivores, this restaurant is a typical cheeseburger / chicken nugget quick service restaurant, but if you’re vegan, PAY ATTENTION!
They serve a plant based vegan lobster roll that is to die for! Even non-vegans say it’s delicious. And there’s this delicious snack too!
Woody’s Lunch Box
Ready for a rootin’ tootin’ good lunch packed by mom? Don’t get confused, the premise of this quick service is that you’re eating the food out of Andy’s lunch box that he dropped in the backyard while playing with his toys.
It may be hard to imagine in the heat, but Woody’s is the place to go for a delicious grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup, and don’t even get us started on the chili and cheese totchos!
Animal Kingdom
Dino Diner
Why are there so many hot dogs in Walt Disney World? Are there really this many people in America who just want to eat hot dogs every day?
Please, people… Disney has some awesome food, don’t waste your appetite (and money) on all of these hot dogs! They’re not worth it.
Eight Spoon Cafe
You know how there’s international fusion foods like Asian – Pacific fusion, or less classy Tex – Mex fusion?
What about comfort food fusion? Oh yeah, it happened. Meet the fusion marriage of macaroni and cheese and barbeque!
Flame Tree Barbeque
Bring on the barbeque! No boring cheeseburgers here! Here you can order a half a chicken, ribs, or pulled pork sandwiches topped with coleslaw. Yummmmmmmm.
Pizzafari
Do you remember us talking about those “pillow pizzas”? Well, they’re back again for more!
While we don’t mind the puffy pizza, we’re not sure why Disney thought it was a good idea to use this concept more than once. They’re not bad, but there’s SO MUCH BETTER!
Satu’li Canteen
Sorry, not sorry, but we’re going to get super biased with you here because here are the facts: SATU’LI CANTEEN IS THE BEST RESTAURANT IN ALL OF WALT DISNEY WORLD. There, I said it.
I said the best restaurant, not just quick service restaurant. It has the most unique and best food. It is truly out of this world. No, literally, not from this planet. This is a restaurant run by the Na’vi.
This is a Pandora version of Chipotle. You pick your base, your protein, and your dressing. Listen, I have dreams about a beef noodle bowl with creamy herb dressing. Just saying…
Trilo-Bites
It’s a universal fact that anything made with Buffalo sauce is automatically a win. Trilo-Bites serves a Buffalo Chicken nacho made with house made chips and it is a great salty mid day snack.
Yak & Yeti Restaurant
This walk up stand is attached to the sit down restaurant of the same name. The flavors here are from all over Asia with lots of curry, teriyaki, and other Asian inspired dishes.
