Plexiglass Partitions Removed in Gran Fiesta Tour Queue Area
We have a bit of a covid update for you this morning, and it comes from inside the spectacular Mexico Pavilion at Epcot!
MickeyBloggers are over at the Gran Fiesta Tour attraction, and noticed something has changed since our last visit. Can you spot what it is?
Clue: it’s not a case of any more missing animatronics!
That’s right – the plexiglass partition screens have been removed!
This is a big development as Walt Disney World transitions away from pandemic protocols, and we can’t wait to hear guests’ reactions.
During the pandemic, clear plexiglass screens were installed over the partitions in the snaking queue line for this boat-based attraction.
As you can see from the photos, the line area is quite compact, meaning guests are stood very close to each other as they wait to board.
Although the ride is quiet this morning, this area can get quite packed during peak periods, meaning the partitions were a necessary protocol to help protect guests from possible virus exposure.
Now, the area is plexiglass-free, meaning guests can be closer together.
Some may welcome this development, as it will make the already-tight queue area feel less constricting, or less like a fish tank between all those screens.
Other guests, however, may feel a bit more uneasy at the change, as the virus concern remains relevant, especially to those at higher risk of infection.
Although it has been announced that the US has passed the pandemic stage of the coronavirus outbreak, Disney are still taking necessary precautions to keep guests and Cast Members safe, and following official guidance from authorities.
If you have any concerns, you can check the official Walt Disney World guidance page here.
So, next time you’re visiting the Three Caballeros aboard the Gran Fiesta Tour, you’ll notice the area is much more plexiglass-free than it has been since 2020! Enjoy your Mexican boat-ride adventure!
By the way, remember that time Jose fell down?!
