VIDEO: Passenger Airlifted Off of Disney Cruise Ship On West Coast Near Oregon
News is out that a passenger aboard a Disney Cruise ship off the West Coast near Gray’s Harbor had be airlifted by the U.S. Coast Guard. The report on KXRO states that aircrew had to medevac the person on Wednesday evening 180 miles offshore.
The Coast Guard Sector Columbia River received a call on Wednesday from the Disney Wonder around 5:30pm regarding a 71-year old passenger. At the time it appeared that the passenger was experiencing uncontrollable internal bleeding.
We have video footage below of the MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Sector Columbia River flying over the ship. We are told they had a Life-Flight nurse on board to provide medical assistance to the patient.
The patient which you can see being brought up to the copter in the video above was transported to shore and transferred to a medical center in Portland, Oregon. According to recent reports, the passenger is in stable condition.
