Construction Underway on Grand Floridian Villas at Walt Disney World
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog you’ll know that construction is currently underway at beloved Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort the Grand Floridian which is expanding its DVC village offering for guests.
As you can see from these images, work is well underway on the expansion on the villas at Disney Grand Floridan and will add 200 new resort studios as part of the Disney Vacation Club.
In addition to the new villa studios, existing villas including deluxe studios, 1 bedroom villas, 2 bedroom villas and 3 bedroom grand villas will be enhanced.
For those staying or visiting Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, you’ll notice construction walls surrounding the property where work is being done. Disney endeavors to limit construction to daytime hours when its less likely to be intrusive to guests.
So what will the new deluxe studios look like? We know that they’ll feature two queen-size beds along with a daybed and will be able to accommodate up to five guests.
The 1 and 2 bedroom villas will feature all of the comforts of home including full kitchens, large living areas as well as modern appliances, farmhouse sink, washer and drying, pull-down queen size beds and a bull-down bunk size bed that folds away into a media center.
Three bedroom grand villas will be perfect for larger families and can accommodate up to 12 guests. They feature two bedrooms with 2 queen-size bedrooms, a master bedroom with a king-size bed, along with a dining area, expansive dining room and Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Mary Poppins and Dumbo-themed accents!
We are so excited to take a look at the villa renovations once completed. As of yet, Disney hasn’t announced a completion date but this is a story that we’ll be following closely and we promise to let you know.
Those looking to book a stay at one of the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort should note that Disney Vacation Club members have first dibs on booking. However, unused inventory is available to book through your local travel agent or directly at disneyworld.com as part of a regular Walt Disney World vacation package.
We’ll be covering the entire construction process.
As you can see, signage is currently up around the property that let’s guests know that there is a model villa that guests can view in the lobby of the Grand Floridian Resort.
Even on the Saturday before Easter, the construction area was a bustle of activity.
Scaffolding surrounds much of the outer buildings that are being renovated.
It looks like certain external walls have also been removed from the properties.
You can see how expansive the current construction area is.
You can also see the Polynesian Resort in the background giving you an idea of the side of the property that the construction is taking place!
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for further Grand Floridian news and updates.
