Construction Update: Work on TRON Continues!
We got some good news this morning that the Walt Disney World Railroad is being tested for its imminent return.
This is great news as it is further proof that the TRON coaster is getting even closer to completion.
We brought you lots of construction updates on this awesome new addition to Tomorrowland over the last few months.
But now we really think you’ll agree that the ride is really starting to come together.
Things are really moving along on outdoor canopies for the attraction.
Construction teams have been hard at work over the last few months laying down the panels for the incredible open air canopies.
The attraction draws its inspiration from the TRON films.
Guests board lightcycles and fly through the indoor portion of the attraction before soar outside underneath illuminated canopies that give guests that feeling that you’re speeding through cyberspace.
As we previously shared here at MickeyBlog, the lightcycles were seen being brought to the Magic Kingdom earlier this Spring.
Soon, reports started coming in that Disney was getting ready to start testing the ride vehicles for the attraction.
Just last week, we shared first images with you the lightcycles on the track.
If you’ll be at Magic Kingdom in the weeks ahead, then you’ll want to head to Tomorrowland to check out the construction in action.
We recommend that you climb aboard the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover.
From the raised platform of the Peoplemover, you get incredible views of the work being carried out.
Another great location is near the Barnstormer new The Barnstormer in Storybook Circus.
These photos were taken this morning.
They still show a very active construction site.
Cranes were raised underneath the canopies as more panels were being moved into place.
You can also see where the tracks will run under the canopies.
Below is a great view of area where the coaster emerges from inside its makin building and out into the canopies.
Below you can see one brave construction worker tethered to the canopy dome and working at the very top.
Now that’s what I call a day at the office.
Concrete partitions are still being put into place.
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for further TRON news and updates!
