Disney Parks Donate Over $52 Million in Food Products
With so much need in the world, the incredible Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products cast members went to work over the past couple of years to donate an enormous amount of food to local communities. In fact, the team donated over $52 million dollars in “food, products and supplies since 2020,” according to a Twitter post yesterday.

The donations focused on local communities near Disney parks around the world with food donations globally surpassing a value of $14.6 million, according to the tweet. The amount is the equivalent of 2.1 million meals, according to Disney Parks Blog.

Among the recipients chosen for the remarkable donations, shelters and as well as food coordination charities benefited from the work of the Disney VoluntEARS program.

Food Donations Around the World
According to Shelby Grasser, who serves as the assistant manage of Corporate Citizenship, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, the Walt Disney World Resort alone contributed $500,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The donation “was among the $3 million the resort granted in honor of its 50th anniversary to important causes in the community,” Grasser said in her Disney Parks Blog post.

Other donations included a 90,000-meal gift to Orange County by the Disneyland Resort and the donation of 400 tons of food by Disneyland Paris to local communities, according to Grasser.
“Hong Kong Disneyland joined with Foodlink Foundation to launch Disney Meal Box Express. Since June 2021, the program has provided an estimated 12,000 healthy, freshly cooked meal boxes to those most impacted by the pandemic across four Hong Kong districts. The donations are prepared every Thursday by more than 200 Disney VoluntEARS and the Food & Beverage team,” the blog continued.
