Some Disney Executives Are Moving to Lake Nona
Disney recently announced the relocation of 2,000 employees from California to Lake Nona, Florida. Well, some Disney executives are beginning to move.

Better Collaboration
Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, wrote that the move allows better integration of creative and business teams. Lake Nona houses the new Disney campus, just 20 miles east of the Walt Disney World Resort.
Housing Boost in Florida
Armel Real Estate’s owner and broker, Deanna Armel, deals mostly in Lake Nona. According to Armel, her team already sold a home to a Disney executive at the Lake Nona Golf and Country Club.

Armel said, “They are already trickling in. I’m working with a Disney relocation right now, buying in the Winter Garden area.”

Therefore, about 2,000 Disney employees (including some Disney executives) and their families will look for housing in Central Florida. However, available houses in Central Florida are at an all-time low.

Will Enough Homes Be Available?
Therefore, a somewhat panicked Armel says, “It’s not just 2,000 employees, it’s 2,000 employees, their families and extended families…Gosh, we don’t have enough inventory as it is. More buyers coming in is going to make it more difficult to win bids for these buyers and we’re trying to help.”

Also, Forever Magic Realty agent, Sean Faulk, is working with approximately 20 to 30 Disney employees moving from California. He says that Central Florida is a hot market for sellers.
Faulk said, “A great deal of Disney employees are contacting me to make that move. Even as crazy as the housing market is, it is still a lot less expensive than their housing market in California.”

Additionally, he continued to say, “It does change the scale of things. There are a lot of people from California, even if they don’t pay it off, there is so much equity in their home that they can pay cash for a house here. So, it makes our market even more competitive and drives prices up.”
