BREAKING NEWS: Disney World is Easing Up on Its Cast Member Mask Policy Starting Monday

We received a very interesting bit of intel while at Walt Disney World today. According to an inside source, Disney will be moving to an optional face mask policy for vaccinated Cast Members starting on Monday (11/8.)

However our sources have informed us that this policy applies to BACKSTAGE AREAS ONLY. In what is good news for CMs this will apply to both backstage indoor and outdoor areas.

There’s no word yet on whether this policy will eventually expand to visitor areas or whether Disney World will be changing it’s guest policies for the parks but this is a story that we will continue to follow closely. Readers are encouraged to keep checking back with us for further news and updates.

We don’t find it too surprising that cast should have a more relaxed policy than theme park visitors. With Disney mandating vaccinations for employees it’s easier to monitor the threat of COVID. This is not so easy for visitors as proof of vaccination is not required to get into the parks. Rather it is a more of a trust system.

Ultimately this policy changes is good news for both guests and cast members as it does mean that Disney is starting to rethink some of its policies regarding Health & Safety requirements at the parks.
