What to Expect During a June 2022 Disney World Vacation
We’re nearly through the first semester of the school year. Then, in what’ll seem like no time, summer vacation will arrive.
So, you should already be planning your next family adventure, and you’re probably going to Walt Disney World.
What will Disney be like in June of 2022? Read on for details.
Let’s Talk about June Visits
When the calendar switches to June, Disney vacationers flock to the parks.
While Walt Disney World won’t be as busy in June as July, it’s still one of the most crowded months on the annual calendar.
Should you have the option, I’d strongly suggest visiting during the first 10 days.
Many schools haven’t finished by this point, giving you some time and distance from the larger crowds toward the end of June.
Then again, if the same school timeframe applies to your kids, you may not have a choice. That’s totally fine! Disney manages crowds quite well!
Plus, the addition of Disney Genie ensures that you’ll enjoy a more efficient visit than during your last trip.
Let’s Talk about the Weather
From 2010-2019, Orlando averaged a high temperature of 91 degrees and a low of 73 degrees during the month of June.
Obviously, that data fluctuates dramatically by week and even by day. Still, you should know a couple of facts.
First, June represents the rainiest of the summer months. Sudden, borderline unpredictable rain showers are a thing in Central Florida.
So, please pack an umbrella or rain slickers or whatever you use to stay dry. Also, be prepared to adapt your itinerary to indoor activities when it rains.
The other thing to know circles back to the temperatures. WeatherSpark indicates that the daily high temperature in Orlando in June rarely passes 94 degrees.
However, those numbers tick up later in the month as we go deeper into summer, which doesn’t technically start until June 21st.
Again, you can avoid some heat by arriving earlier in the month. But, even if you cannot, the temperatures remain better in June than in July.
Also, the daily low temperatures typically range from 68 to 77 degrees. So, in short, it’ll rarely be anything other than acceptably warm in Florida.
Those who enjoy swimming and sunbathing will love this time of year, though.
The constant sunny weather provides a lovely backdrop for an afternoon at the pool.
A pro tip here is to do some post-park swimming if you cannot take an afternoon dip. The weather remains plenty warm enough for swimming.
Let’s Talk about Disney Events for the Month
The 2022 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival represents the most significant Disney event for the month.
Each year, EPCOT operates temporary Outdoor Kitchens that sell terrific cuisine and beverages.
Most of the available dishes embody the best of international cuisine. However, some individual items like chocolate have their own Outdoor Kitchens, too.
Best of all, most of these items cost $10 or less. So you can eat a full meal, a GOOD meal, cheaper than pretty much anywhere else on the Disney campus.
For many Disney fans, the Flower & Garden Festival embodies the best of Disney. That’s why they make a visit here an annual family tradition.
In 2022, Disney provides many other reasons to visit as well. For example, Walt Disney World will celebrate its 50th anniversary throughout the year.
As part of these festivities, you’ll attend unique Cavalcades, fireworks presentations, and other limited-time fare.
Three new daily presentations comprise many of the core features. At Magic Kingdom, Disney Enchantment provides fireworks alongside digital projections.
Harmonious at EPCOT synchronizes five barges to tell a multilingual visual story across the waters of the World Showcase Lagoon.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney KiteTails recaps two familiar stories, Jungle Book and The Lion King, using giant kites and floats.
The four theme park landmarks also light up at night as “Beacons of Magic.” They illuminate the night at all Disney parks, adding a touch more magic.
Overall, you’ll only have a brief window to experience this fantastic time in Walt Disney World’s history. So, you’ll be glad that you were there.
Oh, and don’t miss Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure while you’re there! It’s the newest ride at Walt Disney World and a dazzling Imagineering triumph!
Let’s Talk about Sports Events for the Month
Sports fans won’t have much to enjoy in Orlando in June.
The Orlando Magic finish their regular season in April. But, unfortunately, even their most optimistic fans don’t believe they’ll still be playing in June.
For soccer fans, Orlando City SC played two home games in June last year. The soccer schedule isn’t out for 2022, but that’s a fair expectation for next year, too.
The University of Central Florida won’t have any sports going in June, either.
Baseball fans could conceivably travel to Tampa Bay or Miami for some games, but that takes away from time at Disney.
Let’s Talk about Other Local Events for the Month
However, several other entertainment opportunities will be available in the greater Orlando area.
Jesus Christ Superstar will run from June 7th through June 12th at Walt Disney Theatre at Dr. Phillips Center.
Symmetrically, Jesus Christ Superstar will celebrate its 50th anniversary on this tour as well. So, it’s almost exactly the same age as Walt Disney World.
A very specific group of fans can attend the Supernatural Official Convention from June 24th through June 26th.
NOW AVAILABLE! All admission passes, autographs, photo ops and more are back on sale for the Official Supernatural Convention in Orlando on its NEW DATE: June 24-26, 2022 at the Doubletree by Hilton Universal Orlando! https://t.co/4HSbob8ghm pic.twitter.com/JR8DrJUMan

Yes, the actors who play Sam, Dean, and Castiel will all be there. Shriek appropriately if this applies to you.
In terms of concerts, the greatest band ever, Def Leppard, will play Camping World Stadium on June 19th.
Joining them are Joan Jett, Motley Crue, and Poison. So, it’s the perfect concert for children of the 1980s.
More refined music fans will enjoy the Orlando Jazz Festival on June 18th and 19th, but nobody will play Pour Some Sugar on Me at that.
Harry Potter fans should also circle June 25th on their calendars. Walt Disney Theatre will host Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in Concert on that date.
Even Harry Potter would rather see the Def Leppard concert, though.
Final Thoughts
There’s never a wrong time to visit Walt Disney World. As long as you plan your trip well, you’ll have the vacation of your dreams.
Now, if you aren’t as familiar with Disney, please heed my advice.
I highly recommend that you use an Authorized Vacation Planner like the experts at MickeyTravels.
These professionals know more about Disney vacations than anybody else alive, but they won’t charge a dime for their services. So, you’re crazy NOT to use them.
Speaking of June in particular, dress for warm weather and adjust your expectations for the fact that crowds will be a bit larger.
As long as you do these things and bring an umbrella, you’ll have THE best time visiting Disney in June!
