Disney Announces Ultimate Holiday Toy Drive
During this morning’s episode of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” ABC News Correspondent Will Reeve and GMA co-anchor Michael Strahan helped to kick off this year’s 2021 Disney Ultimate Toy Drive, which benefits the Marine Toys for Tots. The show donated $500,000 to the enormous philanthropic effort.

“This magical time of year is an opportunity for all of us to deliver joy to our communities, and Disney is proud to continue our longstanding tradition of supporting the Marine Toys for Tots Program through the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive with the goal to make the holidays brighter for children in need,” according to a statement published today by Jenny Cohen, who serves as the executive vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility for The Walt Disney Company.
Those looking to participate in the drive can donate toys in a variety of locations. Unwrapped, new toys can be dropped off at locations at Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort and at Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort from now until December 14th. For those looking for an online options, toys can also be purchased and donated through the shopDisney websitre from now until the same date.
Started in 1947, the Marine Toys of Tots Program “began … when Walt Disney and his animators personally designed the original Toys for Tots train logo that is still used today,” according to the event press release.
The Walt Disney Company has a series of promotional spots planned, including a Disney VoluntEARS PSA as well as an empahsis on giving across their programming platforms, including ABC, ESPN, Disney Junior, and the Disney Channel.
According to the press release, attendees at upcoming Disney+ premieres, including “Hawkeye” from Marvel Studios, will be able to make in-person donations.
