“Golden Collectibles” NFT Launches for Disney+ Day
In just a couple of weeks, Disney plans to launch a new lineup of NFTs. Called “Golden Moments,” the release coincides with Disney+ Day on November 12th. The release will include iconic Disney characters from their library. To some Disney fans, this may sound like a glitch from “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” but to collectors, this is a cause for celebration.
Disney magic is coming to VeVe! ✨

Like the Fab 50 Statue Collection that debuted at the Walt Disney World Resort this month, the Golden Moments collection will offer unique statues, only this time they will be digital and for NFT consumers.
Disney uses a digital storefront app called Veve to handle the sale of their NFT’s. The initial offering will include “digital golden statues inspired by beloved stories and moments from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, [and] Star Wars,” according to an article in Bitcoin Insider. Veve also includes an AR app that will allow users to view their purchases directly inside the app; however, users are not limited to using Veve after the purchase.
Disney is not alone in the NFT market. Celebrities like Eminem, Tony Hawk and Ellen DeGeneres have opened NFT marketplaces. In addition, early Internet stars have cashed in on their content. The 2007 YouTube video entitled “Charlie bit my finger!” sold for $761,000 while Internet meme, “Side Eyeing Chloe,” sold for $76,000.
This Disney NFT is expected to grow to include anything from original artwork to never-before-seen clips. In fact, Disney already possesses a large library of NFTs available for sale. Thanks to the Ethereum blockchain, owners of these statues will never deal with one shattering.
