Frontierland Train Station is Getting a Bit of a Sprucing Up
With only a month to go until Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration, Disney is using the time to give a bit of a sprucing up to various attractions, eateries and more.
Nowhere is this more evident than at the Magic Kingdom where we’ve seen a whole host of projects from the re-theming of Jungle Cruise to laying a new boardwalk in Frontierland.
Today we can also report that Disney has been working on repainting the Frontierland Train Station.
Located just above Splash Mountain, this depot has been largely out of use over the past year due to the TRON construction.
The building of Tomorrowland’s large indoor roller coaster required the removal of a portion of the Walt Disney World Railroad track.
Trains will need to be rerouted which is a project that Disney has not taken on as of yet.
But as construction nears completion on TRON (which as of yet has not announced and opening date) we suspect the trains will be back.
In the meantime you can see the radiant red of the train station stop with an intentional weathered look.
Most of this work is carried out in the evenings after the park is closed.
So, we will keep popping back to the Frontierland Station and will let you know if any additional changes are made.
In the meantime, readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for more Walt Disney World news and updates.
We will be coming to you LIVE! from the theme parks throughout Labor Day weekend!
