“Living with the Land” Possible Again Today at EPCOT
Nature’s plans will once again shine above the Land Pavilion at EPCOT today. After a two week hiatus, the popular Living with the Land Boat Ride through Disney’s horticultural epicenter finally reopened this morning.
Though we still have no word on what caused the lengthy closure, guests boarded this first boats at park opening minutes ago. The return of the ride came just as unexpectedly as the shutdown itself.
The peaceful ride remains one of the few iconic attractions that opened when the innovative theme park first greeted guests in 1982. Through updates over the years, the experience now presents its story with more innovative technology. Though, the ride still begins with a nod to the original audio-animatronic sets, which highlight various biomes around the country.
Later, it tours a variety of greenhouses that serve as research facilities for Disney scientists as well as a source of food for many restaurants on Walt Disney World property. There, visitors learn about incredible growing techniques utilized by horticulturist at the pavilion.
The ride also tours the fish farms and shrimp hatcheries built within the space. Not only do scientists here research fish farming itself, but they also look at ways to utilize fish to help crops grow more efficiently and without soil.
No longer will these signs be blank. Yesterday, signs also began popping up throughout EPCOT for the new Lightning Lane, part of Disney’s replacement to the FastPass+ sytem, Disney Genie.
Lightning Lane Lives Throughout Disney Parks
Coming this fall, Lightning Lane will be available in two wayd. For many attractions, guests can access the Lightning Lanethrough the Disney Genie+ option, a paid service provided through the MyDisneyExperience app and as an add-on to the complimentary Disney Genie enhancements. For more popular attraction, Lightning Lane access will be available for purchase on a ride-to-ride basis.
