Who Is This Girl I See? Let’s Celebrate Princess Week With Mulan!
Princess Week is still going strong at Walt Disney World is still going strong and today we start with a trip overseas to celebrate one of the most courageous princesses we know – MULAN!
In the face of adversity she overcomes obstacles and proves her worth even in a tradition-bound society. By becoming a legendary warrior and through her courage, passion and determination she proves that anything is possible. Let’s look at some ways that we can celebrate Mulan!
Shanghai Disney Resort
Mickey’s Storybook Express – It seems only fitting to start at Shanghai Disneyland. During this train-themed parade, Mickey Mouse is joined by an array of friends including Mulan as she ventures off to defeat the Huns.
Voyage to the Crystal Grotto – Head out on an enchanting excursion where you’ll drift past beautiful sculpture gardens feature characters from Mulan.
Mickey’s Storybook Adventure – You’ll also see Mulan in this brand new live theater performance now showing at Shanghai Disneyland.
Royal Banquet Hall – This beloved Shanghai Disney eatery features a Mulan-themed room that has the elaborate ambiance you would expect.
Disney Cruise Line
The Golden Mickeys – While on board the Disney Wonder and Disney Dream you can enjoy the Golden Mickey’s- a dazzling tribute to enchanting Disney animated movies. There is a segment of the Broadway-caliber production that pays tribute to Mulan’s legendary heroism and fierce determination as well as the rousing number “I’ll Make a Man Out of You.”
Walt Disney World Resort:
Over at Walt Disney World, Mulan can currently be seen as part of the Royal Princess Processional at Magic Kingdom Park, so keep a lookout for her! If you’re visiting EPCOT, you may also spot Mulan in the gardens of the China pavilion in World Showcase.
Disneyland Resort
Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures – The BIG news of the week for Disneyland fans is that Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures has returned to the Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. In between courses guests will have the chance to interact with characters in a socially distanced setting. This includes Mulan!
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort
Castle of Magical Dreams – Last year, Hong Kong Disneyland kicked off its Castle of Magical Dreams which showcases multiple Disney princesses. Take a close look at the castle and you’ll see architectural elements that pay tribute to Mulan’s heroic journey complete with an embossed cherry blossom motif, gold accents and a rose gold dome. The tower also features jade corners and architectural ornamentation in the form crossed golden spears symbolizing Mulan’s heritage and fearless warrior spirit. The spire also features Mulan’s beloved sidekick Mushu.
Mulan-inspired Courage and Kindness Products
You don’t have to go to the theme parks to celebrate Mulan:
- A Place for Mulan – this stylized picture book tells a new and original story based on characters from the live-action film.
- Disney Before the Story – Takes you through what Disney was like before the story particularly growing up as a little girl.
