Review: Drinks and Dessert at Riviera’s Le Petit Cafe

By day, Le Petit Cafe is a lovely morning stop for freshly-brewed coffee and strong espresso concoctions to start your Disney day off on the right foot. By afternoon though, this breakfast-style cafe makes a 180 when they transition into their evening look: a bar serving up alcoholic beverages and tasty snacks! 

I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying a morning cappuccino from Le Petit Cafe on a few occasions. On a recent visit to Riviera though, I just had to check out Le Petit Cafe’s evening offerings to see how they stack up.

Ahead of my Topolino’s Terrace reservation, I headed to Riviera early. I knew I wanted a relaxing happy hour-style experience before heading up to dinner, so I allotted an extra hour and a half for myself to enjoy Le Petit Cafe. 

Offering beer, wine, and snacks (like an artisanal cheese plate and a charcuterie board), this is a great pre-dinner stop if you plan it right! I opted for their pinot noir while my dinner guest went for a cabernet. If you’re more into liquor-based drinks, they have a full list of specialty cocktails offerings to choose from!

I paired my wine with an order of Le Petit’s Lemon Madelines (look at the adorable box the come in!). I have LOVED the Madelines since the Resort opened, and my thoughts remain unchanged after my most recent indulgence: the soft, chewy lemony cookies are some of the lightest and most refreshingly satisfying on Property! The nice dry wines helped to bring out the subtle sweetness of the cookies.  

To REALLY take a happy hour experience at Le Petit Cafe to the next level, take your drinks and snacks out onto one of two outdoor balconies located right off the Riviera lobby. I could write about how breathtaking and relaxing it is out there, but instead I’ll leave you with just one photo and one bit of advice: run, don’t walk to Le Petit Cafe for the most underrated happy hour-style experience on Property!
