The Haunted Mansion Closed to Souls This Morning
Foolish mortals looking to visit the Haunted Mansion attraction this morning at Magic Kingdom must wait a little longer to visit the ghoulish delights of the establishment.
The happy haunts suffered a closure yesterday as well. Apparently, those hitchhiking ghosts must be causing a bit more trouble than usual.
The ride often experiences issues due to the rotating doom buggies and their track. The 999 supernatural beings that enhabit that mansion also sometimes cause technical difficulties that close the mansion to tours.
Due to the unscheduled nature of today’s closure and yesterday’s challenges, we hope the ghostly trouble here gets resolved quickly. Too bad Madame Leota cannot predict when the attraction may open today.
Unfortunately, this morning is rife with issues at Magic Kingom as two other incredibly popular attractions also either never opened or shut down within minutes of rope drop. The closures are sure to challenge guests to replan their days.
Splash Mountain began evacuating guests off its first flume rides of the day, and Pirates of the Caribbean never opened, according to the wait time list. Though Splash Mountain appears to be (yet another) spur-of-the-moment issue, a permit was filed in June for the Pirates work.
Even with the challenges for the theme park, guests still lined up at least an hour before park opening today to rope drop their favorite attractions, like the Haunted Mansion. Despite a new indoor mask mandate in place, crowds continue to visit the Walt Disney World Resort.
Magic Kingdom visitors received quite a special treat this week too. Fall decorations popped up overnight on Monday and continued to spread their glorious colors throughout Main Street U.S.A. as the week continued. Carved pumpkins also popped up throughout the decor.
Stay tuned to MickeyBlog for the latest on those attraction closures, construction projects, and of course, all of the exciting decorations going up not only for fall but for the 50th anniversary celebration that begins on October 1st.
