Tornado Watch Issued for Surrounding Orlando Area
Elsa just won’t let it go. Tropical Storm Elsa has grown to hurricane status once again, reaching winds of 75 mph. With the storm reaching Central Florida, it also brings a tornado watch for the Orlando area until 8am on Wednesday.
Even though Elsa has strengthened this evening, it is not expected to stay organized for too long. Meteorologists fully expect her to weaken back down to tropical storm status. As she makes landfall in the upcoming hours, winds will drop to 40mph. There is still plenty of spin bringing the threat of tornadoes throughout the night and early morning.
Tornado watch for Orlando area just added through 8 am. Even though Elsa has been really struggling the last hour or so, it can still pose a tornado threat for areas east (us). pic.twitter.com/25MIF6j2Is

Although most areas won’t see any hurricane conditions, some areas in central Florida can see winds up to 40 and 50 mpg with some strong storms producing heavy downpours.
