Dept. of Defense Engineers Visit Galaxy’s Edge
Batuu welcomed some esteemed guests to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Recently. Walt Disney Imagineers hosted graduate and doctoral students from the Naval Postgraduate Schools’ Department of Systems Engineering.

Exploring the incredible innovations in concepts, tools and best practice that define the immersive land, students familiarized themselves with the latest in coroporate engineering technologies displayed throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Walt Disney Imagineers personally guided the group of students not only through the land’s attractions but also the intricate architecture that brings Batuu to life.

With commerative items on hand, the incredible team of engineers from the Department of Defense further explored their own mission as stated on the department’s website: “to provide relevant, tailored, and unique advanced education and research programs in Systems Engineering.”

Students in the highly-rated program study “to increase the combat effectiveness of US and Allied armed forces and to enhance the security of the United States,” according to the Naval Postgraduate School’s site.

A Commitment to the Military
The Walt Disney Company greatly values the work of the U.S. Armed Services. In March 2012, the company began the Heroes Work Here program. The effort works to hire, support, and train veterans after their service.
