Scarlett Johansson Says Budapest Mission Will Be in ‘Black Widow’
Scarlett Johansson has revealed that Black Widow will shed light on a Marvel mystery that fans have been wondering about for years… just what happened in Budapest?
For almost a decade, a Budapest mission that caused tension between Hawkeye and Black Widow has been frequently referenced.
While promoting the ever-upcoming Black Widow movie, Jimmy Fallon asked Johansson if fans will finally discover what happened in Budapest.
Johansson doesn’t let much information slip other than confirming that the truth will finally be revealed.
The mission was first mentioned in The Avengers when Clint states that the situation is “just like Budapest all over again” with Natasha responding “you and I remember Budapest very differently”.
Just two years later the mission is referenced once more, revealing something dark happened on the mission for Natasha.
Alexander Pierce, portrayed by Robert Redford tells her: “If you do this, none of your past will remain hidden: not Budapest, Osaka and the children’s ward”.
While talking to Jimmy Fallon, Johansson shares her nervous excitement for the film.
We’ve been sitting on this film for over a year, and it’s been ten years in the making.
She tells before adding
I’m super proud of it.
Black Widow was originally intended to release May 2020 before being pushed back numerous times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is finally set to release next month in theatres and on Disney+ with premier access.
Johanson will be portraying Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, following her story between Captain America: Civil War and The Avengers: Infinity War.
