Centerpiece of Porte Cochere Now In Place At Disney’s Polynesian Resort
It’s all coming together Disney friends! Today the colorful centerpiece of Disney Polynesian Village Resort’s Porte Cochere was finally hoisted into place!
This was a monumental moment as we’ve been following the construction of this A-frame since workers first started to build it.
If you’ve been following along with us you’ll know that the construction of the centerpiece happened in the adjacent parking lot.
Once the majority of the elements were added into place the decision was made to move it over to its permanent home. .
We absolutely love the way that this is going to look from a distance. It really adds that WOW factor that the entrance to the Poly was missing.
It still looks like the area is a work in progress though more roofing has gone up since our last visit and the pillars of the Porte Cochere have also been painted.
The renovations are expected to be completed this Summer. In addition to the work to the front entrance of the building, new lighting is going up in the Main Ceremonial House and all of the guest rooms are receiving a Moana-inspired make-over.
The work to the Porte Cochere also extended to the Monorail platform located on the second level.
