On October 1, 2021, The World’s Most Magical Celebration will begin! Excitedly, Walt Disney World Resort will observe its 50th anniversary, and you should celebrate with some opening day attractions!
With that being said, several opening day attractions are still running at Walt Disney World. So, it’s imperative to visit these 50-year-old attractions if you are coming for Walt Disney World’s celebration!

Keep in mind, all of these attractions are in the Magic Kingdom.
Country Bear Jamboree
First, the Country Bear Jamboree is a stage show with animatronic bears. Located in Frontierland, these lovable characters entertain crowds with country music.
Although bears are the stars of the show, other animals, such as moose, are mounted on the walls! This is a great show for the whole family!
Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Truly, Dumbo the Flying Elephant is a rite of passage for any Walt Disney World Guest. Children of all ages laugh as they fly above the water.
Located in Fantasyland, Dumbo takes you on a whimsical flight. Also, queue improvements now include a play area for children!
Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade
So, have you ever dreamed of living on the frontier? Or, are you from the country and miss plinking around while on vacation?

Walt Disney World solves your dilemma with the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade. Here, you can pick up your “rifle” for a fun, interactive shooting game!
The Hall of Presidents
Found at Liberty Square, The Hall of Presidents displays all 44 Presidents of the United States. Your family will learn about the nation’s founding while in a stately theatre.
Walt Disney loved America, and he believed in teaching others about its history. Out of respect for our country and Walt, take a break and watch this impressive history lesson!
The Haunted Mansion
The Haunted Mansion is also located in Liberty Square. In fact, some consider it to be Walt Disney World’s most beloved attraction.
This classic, omnimover ride is full of ghouls with all sorts of personalities. You may experience goosebumps one moment, and then be full of laughs the next!
“it’s a small world”
Known most of all for its theme song, “it’s a small world” is a necessary ride while in the Magic Kingdom. Yes, the song is worth the experience!
During this boat ride, children will see different cultures and countries from around the world. “it’s a small world” reminds us of our connectedness, as well as the need to work together!
Jungle Cruise
The Jungle Cruise’s focus is cheesy jokes and puns. The skippers’ light-hearted fun is the highlight of this classic attraction!
In fact, the Jungle Cruise will be undergoing slight refurbishments and updates this summer. The goal is to keep the same, fun atmosphere while better linking the scenes.
Mad Tea Party
There is nothing more fun than throwing yourself in a pastel teacup and twirling around to antics and song. That is your experience at the Mad Tea Party in Fantasyland.
Inspired by Mad Hatter’s tea party in “Alice in Wonderland,” this attraction spins you in circles, even long after the ride is over! Watch for the Dormouse as he peeps his head out of the giant teapot!
Peter Pan’s Flight
What’s your happy thought? Riding “Peter Pan’s Flight” in Fantasyland, of course!
The wait times are an hour or more, even after all these years! Thankfully, waiting is much more tolerable with the updated, interactive queue.
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
Did you know that Walt Disney thought of Disneyland while watching his daughters ride a carousel? Therefore, Disney parks must include a carousel!
Actually, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel is older than Walt Disney World. The carousel itself was built in 1917; therefore, it is the oldest ride on Walt Disney World property.
Swiss Family Treehouse
As you walk through Adventureland, you may notice the Swiss Family Treehouse. Based on the Disney Film “Swiss Family Robinson,” this walk-through attraction depicts many scenes.
Swiss Family Treehouse is a relaxing attraction found in Walt Disney World. Definitely, kids will enjoy exploring this area.
Tomorrowland Speedway
In Tomorrowland, Space Mountain steals most of the attention. However, the Tomorrowland Speedway is a family-centered attraction that brings many laughs!
Keep in mind, these cars do not operate like typical automobiles. Good thing, or there would probably be many more wrecks!
Walt Disney World Railroad
As you may know, Walt Disney loved trains. Therefore, it is appropriate for the Walt Disney World Railroad to load passengers 50 years later.
You can board the Walt Disney World Railroad on Main Street, U.S.A. Keep in mind, the attraction is not currently running, probably due to Tron being built.
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room
Animatronics are found throughout Walt Disney World. However, the original animatronics were the birds found in Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.
Please, take a few minutes and visit this timeless attraction! Truly, it is a signature Walt Disney masterpiece!
