Fear not! We at MickeyBlog offer you these tried-and-true tips for securing your family’s Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group on your next visit to Galaxy’s Edge!
Nix the Wi-Fi
The force is more likely to be on your side if you use your mobile data over Wi-Fi. This is particularly true for guests trying to secure a Boarding Group while connected to Disney’s complimentary Wi-Fi service.
Because so many guests are accessing Disney’s Wi-Fi at one time, service can be a little lagging. We’ve found using personal data gives a slight advantage.
While you’re at it, we recommend closing out of any apps running in the background, including My Disney Experience.
A “freshly opened” My Disney Experience app works better for securing your Boarding Group.
Rise and Shine!
Boarding Groups become available at two times: 7 a.m. EST from anywhere or 1 p.m. EST from inside Hollywood Studios.

We suggest taking advantage of the 7 a.m. window since you can literally try to reserve a Boarding Group from your bed!
Plus, if you don’t have luck bright-and-early, you can try again in the afternoon, but you must be inside the park.

It might be helpful to set an alarm so that you can be ready when Boarding Groups become available.
Whatever you do, though, set your alarm for at least 5 minutes early! Otherwise, your inner Darth Vader might be unleashed when the alarm notification pops up and blocks you from accessing the app on time.
Don’t Flinch!
Boarding Groups can disappear within SECONDS! So don’t pause, even for an instant!
You’ll be prompted to select your party upon clicking the “Join Group” button.
From there, you’ll see checkmarks next to the name of all friends & family who have a Park Pass Reservation booked for Hollywood Studios.

DO NOT SPEND TIME UNCLICKING NAMES!
Go ahead and read that sentence above one more time… It’s important!

It is okay if not everyone selected plans to ride or meets the height requirement for this specific attraction.
In the amount of time it will take you to uncheck names, you might lose your opportunity to secure a Boarding Group!
Just click on to the next screen without looking back.

All Hands on Deck
Do you have multiple people in your party vying for that coveted Boarding Group? If so, put them to work!
Multiple guests from the same group can try to reserve a Boarding Group.
We recommend completing this process from separate My Disney Experience accounts for the best outcome.
Of course, you’ll want to be sure your group is connected via the “My Friends & Family” section of My Disney Experience.
“Do, or do not. There is no try.”
Jedi Master Yoda spoke it best to a weary Jedi-in-training Luke, but his words are apt here, too.
And for added support, we think this video created by our friends at Wizarding Wands & Mickey Ears is especially helpful as you prepare to secure your Boarding Group:
In the end, don’t overthink it. Be ready when the time comes and just go for it – and may the Force be with you!
