Over at Marvel.com, Christine Dinh explained that the new special will “go beyond the shield and behind the scenes.”
Dinh wrote:
Streaming exclusively on Disney+, beginning tomorrow, April 30, the second episode of this groundbreaking series of documentary-style specials follows Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan and members of the cast and crew as they take fans inside the making of the hard-hitting series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Viewers will learn how the roots of these two characters, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, reach as far back as Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and the momentum has steadily built over their subsequent films.”
Of course, the Disney PR train is a chuggin’.
Marvel tweeted:

In the trailer to the show, Anthony Mackie said, “With Sam picking up the shield… it’s surprising how timely this series is.
“It’s been an emotional experience.”

His co-star Sebastian Stan agreed and added, “There are all kinds of… complex issues dealt with in this that is very applicable to the times that we’re in.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman said, “It really does make you feel like you’ve stepped into something that’s bigger than you.
Meanwhile, Director Kari Skogland explained, “The goal was to be very grounded…”

And, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, filled with shape-shifting aliens and demigods and talking Racoons, it’s pretty hard to remain “grounded.”
But somehow, Marvel Studios figured it out.
