How Walt Disney World Is Powering The Resort With Renewable Energy
Earth Day may have come and gone but we still wanted to take some time to showcase how Walt Disney World is helping to power the resort with renewable energy while at the same time provide a sanctuary for pollinator populations in Florida.
In a new video from Disney, Dr. Zak visits one of Disney World’s solar facilities where solar power is being used to power the theme parks and resorts while at the same time creating habitats for bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
Pollinators are crucial to the environment and include insects and other animals that help plant life. They are a crucial part of the food supply. With this in mind Disney has added acres and acres of native plants throughout the solar fields Best of all, this is all accomplished while producing clean power to help power the theme parks.
Walt Disney World’s solar fields are a smart use of space that provides a home for wildlife while offsetting carbon emissions through renewable energy production. This is just some of the ways that Disney is working with cutting-edge concepts to help the environment. Check out the video below to take a closer look.
