We May Have More Details On Disney’s ‘Predator’ Project
Buzz is growing again regarding Disney’s Predator reboot as a result of some casting details that were recently revealed online. Late last year, it was revealed that director Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) was going to helm the project. Previous reports have always suggested that Predator 5 was going to take place back in time and will even feature a storyline that focuses on Native Americans before their territories were taken by American settles and will feature a First Nations cast.”
Though I was a bit skeptical when these details were first revealed it appears that new details have been revealed that confirm this including casting notes.

According to website, Alien vs. Predator Galaxy, the Predator Reboot will follow Kee who is a Comanche woman that challenges gender norms to become a warrior. The story will reportedly take place “Many years ago – in a time before any Europeans had ever encroached on their lines.” The report continues that the Comanche people had a well-defined society and gender norms.
Kee is described as very close to her younger brother, Taabe, who is being groomed to lead. Kee is further described a s a teacher and source for her broth Taabe in the Comanche way. She is a truth teller and has insights that others do not and wants to prove herself in the masculine world of the Comanche.
So where does Predator come in? According to the casting description, Kee sets out to prove that she is as capable in the men in her tribe when danger threatens them all. We can only assume that we know what that danger must be.
We also know from casting details that the production will be filmed in Calgary and shooting will reportedly start over the next few months.
Thanks to the piece in MovieWeb, we also know a few details about Taabe from casting call descriptions. Casting is looking for an actor that can play the role of a 17 year old Comanche male. His name means sun and he is being groomed to be Chief. He has had to rely on his older sister for most of his life, but ends up taking home a big hunting win. They soon have a rift in their relationship over power.
We are far way form Dan Trachtenberg’s initial intentions that Disney’s Predator Reboot be a complete surprise for fans. However, the director has been working on the project for at least five years and according to reports is still excited about sharing his vision with new audiences as well as fans of the franchise.
