Venmo Tip Challenge Benefits Cast Members!
Five MickeyTravels agents started planning a girls trip Disney vacation months ago. A week before their trip,Crystal Malphrus thought of a fun TikTok she had seen about people doing Venmo tip challenges.
With restaurants and bars having been closed for months due to Covid-19, many cast members were furloughed and laid off.
With limited capacity, the cast members who have been recalled are still not earning their normal salaries and, therefore, many people have wanted to help.
That’s exactly what Crystal and her fellow agents, Theresa, Priscilla, Bridget and Staci wanted to do while they were at Disney!

How it Started
Crystal asked her fellow agents going on the trip with her what they thought about the idea…and they loved it! They originally wanted to raise $200 to gift one lucky cast member while on their trip.
Well, many of the other MickeyTravels agents and their family & friends came together and they raised over $1500! At that point, they knew they could tip several cast members. And that is exactly what they did!

First Tip: Allin at San Angel Inn
Our first night they had dinner at Epcot. When they sat down at their table, they were greeted by their waitress Allin at San Angel Inn. They knew automatically it was going to be a great night! Allin has worked at Walt Disney World for over 10 years.
Allin was furloughed from March through October and was very happy to be back at work! These five amazing women were so excited to give Allin an amazing tip. Allin had seen some of the Tik Tok Venmo Tip Challenges before and never did she think it would happen to her!
Second Tip: Walter at Tambu Lounge
During their second night, they decided to hop over to the Polynesian to have a drink at the Tambu Lounge. This resort has always been a favorite of theirs! During a visit in January, they noticed it was very slow at Tambu due to the resort still not being completely open.
Their favorite bartender Walter just so happened to be there! Little did he know these agents had him on their mind since their last visit. Walter started working for Disney way back in 1987! He loves his job and he loves talking to the guests. When they finally told him about the tip challenge he was so grateful, but couldn’t understand why him. Walter truly touched all of their hearts!
Third Tip: 50’s Prime Time Cafe
Their third night they had dinner at 50’s Prime Time Cafe. They were greeted by Yana and as we they were seated, they knew she was going to make them laugh the entire meal There were jokes the entire night.
Yana usually works over at All Star Music Resort, but thankfully they called her back to work at 50’s Prime Time. Yana fits this job perfectly and she was so appreciative of receiving the extra tip!
Fourth Tip: Tyler at Yak & Yeti
On their last day, they ate at Yak & Yeti. They were so lucky to sit in Tyler’s section! Once again, they knew Tyler was going to be the perfect person to end this tip challenge. He had a smile so big you could almost see it through the mask. During their lunch, they had drinks, appetizers and delicious meals.
They got to spend a lot of time with Tyler! Tyler’s supervisor came by at one point to let us know Tyler mentioned he didn’t want them to leave. This was BEFORE he knew they would be surprising him with an amazing tip. Tyler was so very appreciative and lost for words!
Last Tip: Mousekeeping
Not only did they get to tip waiters/waitresses/bartenders, they got to tip extra amounts to bell services and mousekeeping too!
This challenge made their trip so special. They will never forget the memories they made with all of these special cast members!
We hope that the next time you go to Disney, you can try to make some magic for more cast members! They make magic for us every day! We love our Disney Cast Members and are so grateful for all they do for us all!
