Kilimanjaro Safari Welcomes NEW Nigerian Dwarf Goats
Since Walt Disney World opening in 1988, the theme park has continued to grow, evolve and introduce new inhabitants. Today we’ve got exciting news about some new “kids” that have turned up!
Say “Hello!” to the new Nigerian Dwarf goats that are now calling the Harambe Wildlife Reserve home! You can see them frolicking at the warden’s outpost where these miniature West African goats chase, climb and play just like kids on a playground.
However, we’ve got a surprise for you. Though these goats look pint-sized they are actually fully grown adults! Originally from Nigeria, the goats are considered to be of high value because of the high protein milk they provide, which is also very sweet.
These goats typically support villages by providing goat milk which means there’s less of a need for villagers to rely on wildlife for sustenance. With these goat’s stationed near Warden’s outpost the goats will be protected but can also live in harmony near the humans!
On your next visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, be sure to hop aboard Kilimanjaro Safaris to witness these fun, playful goats yourself! And if you think goats are the G.O.A.T. (the greatest of all time!), you’ll be happy to hear that the Affection Section at Rafiki’s Planet Watch has reopened for up-close visits with goats and other animals.
